360 Vegas Review: Broadway Burger @NYNY Spring 2016

It’s a burger, right?  Sure, some are better than others but how do you justifying charging $10-20 for it.  Well, once you taste it, you’ll understand why.  Apparently there really is such a thing as a gourmet burger and Broadway Burger is a good example of one.

You wouldn’t expect much from a restaurant with a name that fits the theme of the hotel/casino it resides in but you would be wrong to overlook this experience.  Broadway Burger showcases the concept that the whole is more than the sum of it’s parts because, while each element is well taken care of, the combination is something special.

While the concept isn’t new the simplicity of their build a burger is something to be enjoyed, appearing to be inspired by the Chipotle concept, if only in menu layout.  Pick your protein, cheese, veggies, meats and even fry styles.  I know your listening to this and thinking, lots of people do this, it isn’t anything new.  Let me assure you, Broadway Burger doesn’t do burgers like everyone else does.

360 Vegas Mark’s 6/25/15 Review of Broadway Burger @NYNY – 5/5 chips

Twitpic of the Trip

We’ve been around for more than 4 years so I think its safe to accurately throw around the word “History”.  As you all know, whenever we go to Vegas, the intro of the show is related to that trip.  Random Vegas is related to what we did, the review is one of ours and Twitpic of the week becomes Twitpic of the Trip.  For the first time in the shows history, the Twitpic of the trip, while it was taking while we were in Vegas, it wasn’t taken by one of us.  This trips’s winner was taken by @agcorrington.  It’s panorama of the strip looking across the fountains of Bellagio.  This view is stunning and tends to frequently have a pic in the running every few weeks.  However this is, hands down, the best at capturing what it actually looks like to be there enjoying the view.  The only thing I can compare it to is when my smoking hot wife allows me to do some deep see exploration below the equator…I’m talking about going down on her incase that was too clever for any of you.  The picture is fantastic and well worth making show history.

360 Vegas Review: BLT Burger @Mirage Spring 2013

In 2008, 4 years after Roy Horn was attacked by a tiger and their show ended, the Mirage decided that it made little sense to have a tiger habitat taking up prime real estate in their property.  Enter ESquared hospitality and their BLT brand of restaurants.

Vegas is a city constantly evolving and experimenting.  When trends prove to be successful, they tend to become waves that wash over the strip, changing the landscape.  Right now, we are coming towards the end of the pizza place wave and are currently in the midst of the retail revolution.  BLT burger started the gourmet burger places evolution into a requirement at a quality Vegas property.

BLT’s modern space, unique burger offerings, large beer on tap & spiked milkshake selection are all part of the template each property uses when building their burger place.  Into their 6th year on the strip, BLT Burger is still considered one of the best in Vegas.

360 Vegas Review: KGB @Harrah's Fall 2013

Illinois native Kerry Simon made a name for himself as the executive chef at the landmark Plaza Hotel in New York.  Two years into the job, Rolling Stone named him the “Rock n Roll Chef” as well as one of the top personalities in 1991.

Continuing to grow his fame, he’s made appears both as a challenger and a judge on Iron Chef as well as Hell’s Kitchen.  In 2002, Kerry entered the Las Vegas market when he opened Simon Kitchen & Bar at the Hard Rock.  That establishment was listed as one of America’s best new restaurants by Esquire magazine.   His footprint in the market has grown since then

Considering that the one time he won as a challenger on Iron Chef was the hamburger challenge, it only made sense that this first restaurant on the Vegas strip would be a burger joint.  In 2010, Kerry opened Kerry’s Gourmet Burger, or KGB, at Harrah’s. As one would expect with the name, the theme of the place is Russian. The space and décor is set to look like you would imagine Russia looks like, at least the American idea of what Russia looks like.
