E-325: Reach for the Stars

Random Vegas
Although gambling was legalized in 1931, the state didn’t begin attempting to regulate casinos until 1945, with the creation of the Nevada Tax Commission.  Before that, it was just taxed. (Of Rats and Men novel)

Twitpic of the week

This is why I love Vegas signage and @classiclasvegas has captured the best representation I’ve ever seen of what it’s like to walk among the Vegas steel and neon giants.  This picture literally causes my heart to flutter with a feeling only describable as similar to that feeling you got in your stomach every time you were crushing hard on someone.  If I ever become homeless, I will make it my life’s goal to penetrate every old school sign I can.  I know that sounds like I just said I was going to fuck neon signs but what I meant was I’d find a way to sneak inside, perhaps call them my home.  I’m now realizing I just tipped off authorities about my planned activity.  Oh well, I guess the game just got a little more challenging.
