E-340: Evolution of Vegas

Random Vegas

The Last Frontier was the first Manze to occur on the Las Vegas Strip.  The concept from the beginning was to do everything the El Rancho did, just bigger and better. (The Strip – Las Vegas and the Architecture of the American Dream)

Twitpic of the week

I’ve always found what goes on behind the curtain to be fascinating.  Sure, the finished product is the point but once I’ve enjoyed that, I love to see the how.  This week’s winner from @Classiclasvegas shows how much thought went into the property’s signage at the Stardust and how much was put into the accommodations.  The painted shed, as it was known, knew what people wanted and gave it to them, critics be damned.
