Vegas Mate Review of the Week
This week’s review is Brendan Dentino’s Aug 28th review of Zumanity @NYNY – 4/5 chips

Twitpic of the week

This week’s winner is @timthelimoguy for his picture of the strip, old school.  Judging from the angle of the photo and the state of the strip, it looks like the picture was taken in the late 1970s. You can clearly see that the Flamingo’s West tower is under construction and that didn’t begin until 1975.  You can also see that the southwest tower of Imperial Palace has been built but the Flamingo Capri sign is still in use, which would mean this was before it was renamed in 1979.  The picture must have been taken from the Dunes South Tower considering it features the Dunes Onion sign prominently but not as close as pictures taken from the North East tower do.  You can also see the original MGM signage (which is now Bally’s) and the goblet of feathers sign we all associate with Flamingo today lists the property as the Flamingo Hilton.   Lastly if you look close you can see that Harrah’s is still Holiday Inn.
