Roulette is actually a combination of 3 popular English games combined into one created in French casinos during the French Revolution. It’s comprised of Roly-Poly, a game where people placed wagers on a specific number, and a marble on a horizontal wheel, with 2 spots reserved for the house, determines the outcome. Ace of Hearts is similar but its wheel had playing cards painted on it. And Evens/Odds 40 numbers on a wheel, including two for the house, and players bet if the ball would land on an even or odd number. (Book – Chronicles of Old Las Vegas)
Vegas Mate Review of the Week
This week’s review is Marc’s April 24th review of the Shark Reef @Mandalay Bay – 5/5 chips
Twitpic of the weekThis week’s winner comes to us from @FSEVL for a never before seen unique view of Vegas. Slotzilla became human trials of the seated experience this week which gave the opportunity for the picture to be captured and shared. It’s from the launching platform at Slotzilla looking down into the Fremont St Experience and down the street. If this picture doesn’t get you excited about zip lining down Fremont St I’m not sure anything will. I could see me possibly doing this thing multiple times, especially if I can capture video of Fremont St as I zoom by. As a reminder, Slotzilla’s seated experience is now open for business at $20 a person but their superman experience won’t be ready for another month.
