Vegas Virgins

Tips for 1st time Vegas Visitors

  • Stay at center strip, anywhere between Harrah's and Bally's.  There is so much to see in Vegas, don't put yourself in a situation where you have to walk a mile to get to something you haven't seen yet.
  • Decide what kind of trip you want to have.  Do you want to to hang out at the pool, see shows and gamble?  What type of room, dining experience and drinks would you like?  Your answer to these questions will decided where you should stay at.
  • See the free attractions.  Vegas has tons of things you will spend your money on.  Take advantage of the things you don't have to pay for.  Check out the Fountains of Bellagio, the Mirage Volcano and the multiple audio animatronic attractions in the Forum shops at Caesars.
  • BE PREPARED! Every property on the strip charges are daily resort fee.  Until laws are put in place to regulate or stop it, eventually it will overtake all of Vegas.  Expect to pay at least an additional $10 per night.
  • Grab a 24/7 book.  It has tons of coupons for things in Vegas.  Use them to your advantage.  The casino has no problem taking your money from you, you shouldn't be afraid to take the discounts they offer.
  • Tip the waitress at least $1 per drink she brings you.  Even if it's only water, she had to take up space on her tray to bring it to you.  Also, the more you tip, the quicker you'll get your next drink.
  • Check out Fremont St.  This is were Vegas started and it still displays massive amounts of neon.  You'll enjoy cheap gambling, food and booze all over the place.  You can't walk to it so you can either pay $8 for a 24 hour pass on the Deuce bus or pay $20 one way for a cab.  Either way, don't miss it.
  • If you have and iPhone or iPad, download Vegas Mate.  It is hands down the best app available covering Las Vegas.  It's free and it will give you details about every property, attractions, shows, restaurant menus and so much more.  Enjoy photos of the properties, GPS integration, property maps and tons of reviews from users as well as the option to share your own reviews of everything in Las Vegas.
  • Sign up for players club cards.  They are free, keep track of your play and will often give you discounts and special offers around the various properties they represent.  At least Total Rewards and M Life, the two biggest players clubs.

Total Rewards
