In response to Ed Thorp’s famous “beat the dealer” blackjack book, Nevada casinos changed 21 rules forbidding the splitting of aces and only allowed double downs on 11.  The rule changes were so unpopular that casinos eventually went back to the old rules (sincitytalk.com)

Nothing is more beautiful to behold than neon set against a black sky.  Okay, minus silhouettes of nude women in front of Vegas signage.  I think my favorite thing about the old Golden Nugget signage is how at night, the structure disappears giving the illusion the sign floats above the property, like a neon Jesus.  This week’s winner, brought to you by @vegascom showcases glory not found anywhere else on the planet, in a time long past
